Request for Payments


RTP (Real-Time Payments) Request for Pay is a payment request feature that allows merchants to send payment requests directly to customers in real-time. This feature is available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and can be used to request payment from customers who prefer to use RTP as their payment method.

To use RTP Request for Pay in QBO, follow these steps:

Log in to your QBO account and navigate to the "Sales" menu.

Click on "Customers" and select the customer you want to request payment from.

Under "Transaction List," click "Create invoice" or "Create sales receipt" to create an invoice or sales receipt for the customer.

Under "Payment Options," select "Request for Pay (RTP)."

Enter the payment amount and any additional information, such as a payment due date or discount code.

Click "Save and Send" to send the payment request to the customer.

Once the customer receives the payment request, they can make an RTP payment directly from the request. Once the payment is processed, the funds will be transferred in real-time to your bank account.

It's important to note that there may be associated fees with RTP payments, which can vary depending on your bank or financial institution. Be sure to check with your bank to understand the fees associated with RTP payments and to factor these costs into your pricing and payment processing strategy.
